*update* - you can now embed this in your sidebar
You can use the counter on your vox blog if you'd like. First, copy this text:
Then, go to the design section on Vox. Click customize your sidebars, check the embed box, and click configure next to it. Paste that text and then change 'YOUR_BLOG_DOMAIN' to your blog domain name, for instance: xantus.vox.com or just xantus. Click both OK buttons and then check your blog!<iframe src="http://voxr.net/sitecount/?site=YOUR_BLOG_DOMAIN" style="width:150px; height:150px; overflow: hidden;" frameborder="0"></iframe>
You should also pick the small embed type instead of the default.
Now you can set your own color!
You can use this color picker tool to pick your foreground (fg) color and background (bg) color and get a new url for your counter.
Did you know that your Vox blog is your openID?
I can even use my own site Xantus.org as an openID, and point it to my Vox identity. Find out how.
Microsoft and AOL has already shown some support for openID. AOL added support for 63 million openIDs recently. Who's next?
I just found a FireFox extension called Appalacian. It manages openIDs, and even has single click signon.
This is posted to the openID group.
Vox has search, but searching on tags are not my idea of a good context search. They are working on a search engine, but until then, I created a custom search engine using Google Custom search.
You can search all of vox, but anything private (friends, family, draft, etc) won't be found. I setup categories, so you can search all of vox, or narrow your search down to posts, audio, video, books, and photos.
There's a bonus for Firefox users: You can add the search engine to firefox by clicking the "Add Vox Search..." link on the top right. Which also gives you a neat way of searching: select text on a page, and right click "Search vox for 'blahblah'"
Check it out and tell me what you think. I've been using it for a few days now and I think I've got the categories working well.
Search Vox.com
Vox-labs.com was started by two Six Apart employess, Pants Party and I, so we would have a site to put our vox related tools on, such as my Vox bookmarklets, and Pants Party's KVOX (ask him)
Well anyway, I've got mono, and it is wreaking hell on my body. I'm having bouts of hypersomnia, insomnia, headaches, body aches, and sore throat. :( Throw some collective luck my way please.
I grabbed a photo I took at pier 39 last year and scaled down a part of it to fit the vox banner size.
How does it look?
I just got wind of a vox review at the Blog Herald. Site Review: Got Vox?
This quote bothered me a little:
"Depending on your point of view, Vox seems to be taking the “snobish”
marketing technique by offering a small number of invites to the inside..."
I think it's used to control growth, and build interest. But what do I know, I'm just a software engineer...

I created a bookmarklet so you can PM a voxer with a link to any page.
Since I can't actually put the bookmarklet here on vox ( we strip javascript out ), you can visit my VOX Bookmarklets page to get it.
It will fill out the subject using the page title and add the link to the body for you.
*Update*
Do you find yourself always sending links to a specific person on vox? Well, now you can create your own bookmarklet that will auto fill in that person as the recipient! Visit the link above and enter your friend's blog url in the box to create your own bookmarklet.
(I plan to add more bookmarklets as time permits.)

All I can say is WTF
I've had my ear to the ground on Vox news. Here's what I've heard:
O'Reilly Radar - First Thoughts on Vox
I love it. "It" here is Vox. Six Apart's
new blogging system that you might have read about back when it was
codenamed Comet. It's blogging with a social network, such that I can
limit distribution of my posts to friends or family. ...
hello, typepad - Vox Blog
Vox is out and it's fantastic.
Without sounding overly grandiose, Vox is the natural progression of the Internet as a social platform.
A recap from an earlier post...
San Francisco based SixApart, which owns the Typepad, MovableType and LiveJournal blogging platforms, will start letting users test their new Vox (formerly Comet) hosted blogging platform on Thursday, June 1.
