Fire!
I received a call this morning from my brother, "You're not going to believe this, but the apartment building is on fire."
"What?!" I said. "Yeah, the alarm is going off and there is smoke.", he said calmly.
After getting off the phone and alerting everyone on IRC, :P I ran my rsync backup. After some time and a little worry, I received news that it was just the trash can on the first floor that sits under the trash shoot that runs the height of the building. That little fire could of been worse. Trash shoots have all kinds of crap stuck to the sides that can burn easily. My apartment is right next to that shoot.
